We shoot a variety of different matches and we are the only club shooting Field Silhouette in the Sydney Basin.

International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) matches
 
10M Air Pistol (Men & Women)
 

10M Air Pistol Matches are ISSF events shot by both men and women at all levels of competition up to and including the Olympics and Paralympics.

 

Calibre:                         .177”, 4.5 mm air pistol, compressed air or gas

Number of shots/time: 60 shots 105 minutes

The 10m Air Pistol matches are arguably the most mentally demanding.

 

25M Standard Pistol
 

The 60-shot match is divided into 5-shot series with different timings:

  • 4 series of 5 shots within 150 seconds for each series

  • 4 series of 5 shots within 20 seconds for each series

  • 4 series of 5 shots within 10 seconds for each series

The match is shot on a precision target.

 
25M Centrefire/Sports Pistol
 

Shot with a centrefire pistol or a .22LR sports pistol

A match consisting of two parts, both shot at 25 metres.

Precision stage: 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots, each series is 5 minutes

and shot on a precision target.

Rapid Fire Stage: 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots. Each series consists of 5 exposures of the target, each exposure is for 3 seconds; the shooter fires one shot per exposure and is shot on a duelling target.

 

25M Rapid Fire Pistol
 

In 25M Rapid Fire Pistol competitors use semi-automatic pistols in .22LR

Each competitor has five targets.

There are three different time limits: 8 seconds, 6 seconds and 4 seconds

 for the series.  A stage consists of two series in each time, and a full course

of fire comprises two such stages. The match is shot on duelling targets.

 
50M Pistol
 

Formerly known as Free Pistol. Shot with a .22 LR pistol. In this event the pistol may only be loaded with one round of ammunition at a time and must be operated with only one hand, which cannot be supported in any way.  There are practically no rules for the pistol itself, trigger force may be as low as the competitor chooses, the grip may be designed in any way provided it does not give support beyond the wrist, and there are no restrictions on size and weight of the pistol. The match is shot on a precision target.

 
Practical Pistol
 

Shot with a centrefire pistol

This match is shot from three distances, 7, 10 and 15 metres

At each distance 12 shots are fired on 2 targets, 1 on each target, 2 on

each target and 3 on each target in increasing time intervals.

A maximum of 360 points can be achieved.

 
25 and 50 Yard Service Pistol Matches
 

The 25 and 50 Yard Service Pistol events for 9mm and ·38/·357 pistols

consists of 65 or 90 shots fired at distances varying from 50 to 7 yards with

the pistol holstered at the commencement of each series.  Shooters must

hold a current PA Holster Accreditation to compete or train in this event.  

PA Service Pistol targets are used for this event and set in a bank of four or five targets per shooter.

 
Metallic Silhouette
 

Metallic (Field) Silhouette consists of shooting a series metal cut-outs of

chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams, cut to half scale and set at varying

distances from the competitor. Field Silhouette Matches can be shot with

handguns from .22magnun to .45 calibres.
